I'm not all that knowledgeable concerning Linux.... I thought that a
firewall was part of it. But too, I thought the firewall was separate from
Virus control, Parental Control, Spam/eMail protection etc. would be
completely separate from a firewall. I run all right now on Windows XP with
Norton Internet Security.
I guess I'm wondering if I'd be protected for these things with Linux, or if
there's additional programs I need to get them done.

So I'm curious... I've been considering Ubuntu... Is are there
Internet Security programs for it? (just in case)
The firewall software is built into the kernel. It's not a separate
package, as in Windows. As I've mentioned in other notes, Linux & Unix
security is built in and not added on.
