In a Writer document destined for printing, how does one add ruled
lines the width of the page for handwritten notes?
There are many ways. Here are some:
o Enter sufficient underscores to fill the lines. Adjust the line
spacing to suit. If there is an unhelpful gap at the end of the
lines, select Centered horizontal alignment.
o Press Enter to create sufficient empty paragraphs. Select the
area and go to Format | Paragraph... | Borders. Under "Line
arrangement", select just the line underneath the paragraph and then
a suitable line style. Remove the tick at the bottom from "Merge
with next paragraph". Adjust the paragraph spacing if necessary.
o (This is probably the best technique.) Insert a Right tab at the
right margin of the page. Press Tab repeatedly (without pressing
Enter): each Tab will create a new blank line. Now select the area
and choose to underline the lines you have created. Do this by
pressing the Underline button in the Formatting toolbar or by going
to Format | Character... | Font Effects | Underlining. Again, you
can adjust the line spacing to suit.
I trust this helps.
