No you are not missing anything. OpenOffice doesn't include e-mail
software; it just uses whatever you want it to use.
Thunderbird, with the Lightning extension for calendars, is very
popular. Runs on all modern flavours of Windows as well as Mac and *nix.
Free. OpenOffice can use its address book for mail merge etc. Visit
