You must also check “including styles” in the “Find and Replace”
dialog box.
That makes no difference for me -- I still find nothing. Does it work
for you?
I created some text.
I selected the character style “Strong Emphasis”. I applied the style to
two words widely separated.
I then modified the style to include the attribute “blinking”. Both
words then showed as bolded and also began to blink.
I selected “Find & Replace". Under “More Options” I selected the
“Attributes” button and checked “Blinking”. I checked “Including
Styles”. The “Search for” entry field was still blank, but underneath it
was the word “Blinking”. (The “Replace with” entry field was also
blank.) I clicked on “Find All” and it found the two words. If I just
click on “Find” it finds them one at a time.
I then applied the style “Strong Emphasis” to a space. Clicking “Find”
now also found that space. In short, I can’t, as yet, see any difficulty.
Try doing exactly the same thing. If it works, then go from there and
see if you can discover why your previous test didn’t work. If what I
was doing doesn’t work, then we may have a bug on some systems. Try
rebooting in case the memory has become fragmented.
I am currently using Windows XP with OpenOffice.org 2.4.
