We generally recommend against paying for a download, unless the vendor
provides other significant benefit, such as support etc. There are also
some vendors who provide a CD for a nominal amount and provide a service
for those who cannot download OpenOffice. But generally, there's no
reason to pay for OpenOffice. Incidentally, some of those vendors who
claim to provide support simply send their customers here, for their
"paid" support. We are volunteers, who provide assistance to others,
who are using OpenOffice. We don't receive any money for this. So, be
careful, when someone wants to sell you OpenOffice.
