Hello,
I love using Open Office and am very, very thankful for its creation. What
I would like to know is if there are any plans to create an email client
similar to Outlook? The functionality of Outlook is unsurpassed by any free
email client I've ever tried, but it is getting expensive upgrading every
time a new version is released. If the talented individuals responsible for
Open Office could create an email client similar to Outlook I think many
people would be THRILLED with it!
Thank you,

Hello Dennis.
If you read through the archives, you will find that this is discussed
every month. There are many much (in my opinion) better email programs
than Outlook. The same answer will always be given. There are many
email clients that meet the requirements of Outlook.
Look for Evolution if you like the Outlook style of client. Otherwise
Thunderbird and Lightning provide all the tools. If you are dealing
with Exchange server, Evolution will be almost the same (when it works).
I use Thunderbird for communicating with our exchange server after a
year of trying to get Evolution to work the way I work.
What features do you use that make Outlook so "unsurpassed?"
I use Outlook on one computer as it is the only option and it is very
frustrating to say the least.
