If you check the technical specs for e-Granthalaya you'll see that is uses MS-Access as the database software to handle all the library data. So unless someone in the OO.org community knows how to make OO.Base substitute for MS-Access, I don't think you can get around this.
If you really want to use e-Granthalaya, you will not only need MS-Office but, MS-Office Professional as MS-Access is not included in all editions of MS-Office. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
