Good evening, CT,
Your question whether OSX Intel or OSX PC?
Question 1: - Yes there is, click on the Apple icon at top of her Mac Laptop at the left hand side, click opens, "About This Mac' what's in 'Processor' gives you your answer. " 2: - I have not tried this so I'm uncertain. It would depend on your PC and its compatibility with the lady's Mac Laptop. You would have no need to copy CD wise though, once you've discovered the properties of her Processor ether OSX Intel or OSX PC and press, 'Download' it will automatically process OOo to her hard drive.
Hoping you manage it, what ever,
                                 Jea.

I'm a PC user trying to help a technically indifferent colleague install OpenOffice onto her Mac laptop. My first question is about version - she says she has OS 10.4, but doesn't know whether it's OSX Intel or OSX PC. How can I help her figure that out?

Once we've figured out which version of OO she needs, is there any way I can download it to my PC, and burn it onto a CD for her?

Many thanks for any assistance you can lend!
