Sorry... I know what I mean :)

The form that I use for data entry no longer connects to the database.

Pressing F4 to bring up the data sources window does nothing. Attempting
to put the button for that action on the toolbar does nothing- I click
the datasources box in the "Visible Buttons" menu and nothing happens.

I try to open the .odb file and OO does not recognise it. It puts up a
dialog box with all manner of options- everything but Open Office
database file.

When i try to open the .dbf file which stores the data it says
"Impossible to connect"

This is all on a database that has worked flawlessly for some time
under previous versions of OOo.

The version I now have installed is 2.4.1
