Hi;
I have two issues that I would like to test before I put in a feature
request. The first on is simple; the second a bit more complex.
1) I have just purchased a wide 22" LCD so that I could get two
documents on my screen side-by-side. My OOo Writer is zoomed to 106.25%
which gives me room for two real 8.5" letter sized documents on my
screen. The problem is that changing screen page size to actual size
reduces the number of buttons visible on my formatting toolbar. There
is a solution. The 'Apply Style', 'Font Name' and 'Font Size' controls
waste about 20% of my toolbar with white space. If I could reduce the
amount of white space showing on these controls I could make 3-4 more
buttons visible, which is all I really need.
a) How can I do this myself; and,
I don't know if it helps but you can move the entire toolbar somewhere
else if you like. For example you can have it vertically down one side
or the other of the window. To do this, put the cursor over the 5 dots
showing at the left end of the bar, hold down the left mouse button and
drag the bar elsewhere. If the bar is vertical the 5 dots are at the
top. Apologies if that was teaching my grandmother to suck eggs.
b) Is this a feature others might be interested in?
Not me, sorry. I'm all for having everything configurable but this would
come way down my priority list.
2) This second issue is an issue I have brought up before on issuezilla
and really got no response. I would like the 'Apply Style' control to
have a longer drop down list that shows more styles that I can choose
from on the fly rather than have to work my way through the 'Styles and
Formatting' dialogue. Further, I would like to be able to create a
'Style Group'.
No real opinion on this.
