Thanks, Mike and Gene! OOo is quite more powerful than I thought! I discovered that I can use F2 and define a=5, which will simply show 5 in the document. Later in the document I can press F2 again, type b=a+3, and in the document will be displayed 8.
However, when I go back to the beginning and replace a=5 with a=7, I would expect the second location to update itself to show 10 instead of 8. Alas, this does not occur. Additionally, I cannot find out how to use the defined variables in the Equation Editor. This is where I really need them. Thanks for the help so far. If I find the answer to one or both of my issues, I will post them here. -- Dotan Cohen http://what-is-what.com http://gibberish.co.il א-ב-ג-ד-ה-ו-ז-ח-ט-י-ך-כ-ל-ם-מ-ן-נ-ס-ע-ף-פ-ץ-צ-ק-ר-ש-ת ä-ö-ü-ß-Ä-Ö-Ü
