What is the correct strategy for companies that do not want to update every
TB-release? And especially, if extensions no longer work? How are other people

I really would like to have a stable TB with working extensions, if that is
somehow possible :-)
We are using latest Thunderbird 31 with zero problems, so the problem
isn't with Thunderbird 31 or the latest SOGo extensions. Maybe you have
another extension conflicting?
Fyi, there is no longer an ESR for Thunderbird - but, there will only be
major updates when the ESR for Firefox is released, in between only
minor updates.
