hi again sidney,
and if so, did you give it a home directory?no, purposefully.See the man doc on the -H option, which might do what you need and also explains a reason for needing a home directory even without reading user prefs.
i'd tried setting an alternative directory for any given user i was exec'ing at with the -H option ... to no avail. same complaint :-S
it seems that no matter what -H is set to, that at least "auto-whitelist" & "auto-whitelist.mutex" need/want to be in the 'default' user home_dir (/var/root, /Users/username, etc).
i'm a bit confused by the man_page, tho ... for the "-H" option it sez: "Specify that external programs ..." ^^^^^ rather than SA itself.so, my question -- which i suppose i ferret out by iteration -- is, which specific directory does one specify?
i'm assuming for now that it's the PARENT of ".spamassassin/" .... no? thx, richard
