Please note that this is not in any way a promise, suggestion or even
feeble flimsy tiny shred of evidence that there will be a second
edition–given our experiences writing edition one.

The problem is that such a thing will increase the weight of the book
considerably. What we strived to do was to keep the book under/at
about 350 pages. Hibernate in Action (the first edition) had about the
right size in our mind. Making a Spring in Action/Java Persistence
with Hibernate type of book would kill too many trees and break too
many backs. I don't know about you, but the high school years of
tugging along kilos of books are way behind me, and I don't look back
with fond memories to those days.

The whole idea of Wicket in Action (and in my opinion of the whole "in
Action" series) is that you are empowered to figure out stuff on your
own when you have completed the book. I can give you a fish or I can
teach you how to fish. We strived for the latter given 350 pages.

Yes, you will make mistakes. But don't think of those as mistakes but
learning experiences.

The cheese store holds your hand while taking the baby steps. From
there you should be able to go at it with the guidance of the latter
chapters. IMO the book would suffer from adding such a chapter at the
end. Kind of like those movies where they explain the whole plot to
the audience.

And as for your original post, while the wording was not very
friendly, I appreciate it that you took the effort to write it, and
even more so that you stick around to answer questions, remarks and
engage in discussion. Kudos!
