Louis,

With the benefit of the information you provided, I now propose to ask
my bank to transfer directly to your account 23.00 euro. I will pay any
currency conversion and transfer costs at my bank, and there should then
be no check cashing or currency conversion charges at your bank.

I'll let you know when and where I am ready to do this, at my bank
(which is actually the University of Illinois Credit Union); or if I must
go to a local commercial bank to execute the transfer.

Meanwhile, please send me the appropriate identification (name? and
number?) of your bank, and an account number for the deposit of my
payment.

If this works without problems, others might want to try the same.

Or perhaps your publisher could receive the payments and ship copies
of your book for you?

Gene.
