The easy solution used in many other mailing lists is that the list server is configured to automatically add the header line Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] to all messages. This allows everyone simply to press the reply key to follow up on a posting. The disadvantage is that private replies become more cumbersome (and many end up being posted publicly by accident), but most consider that to be the lesser evil today. > I have often wondered whether we could have a metrication newsgroup. "comp.std.internat" sometimes has related discussions already, but it is really a computer standards group. I'd suggest misc.metric-system (but I could also live with soc.metrication). The proposal/discussion/voting process necessary to create a new USENT group in the Big-8 hierarchy is described in http://www.eyrie.org/~eagle/faqs/big-eight.html Any volunteer here eager to take care of that process? (It's been over ten years since I created a newsgroup, so I'm happy to leave this one to a member of a younger generation.) Markus -- Markus G.
