Now my question crops up, why does ICAO forces pilots and many other involved persons to use those absolutely obsolete imperial units? why can't aviation (and seafaring) be completely metric, there is no reason for feet, miles, knots and fathoms! I know the bebefit of the nautical mile but there is no benefit anymore, almost every ship/plane is leaded by GPS or ground/air control noboby is navigating by the stars and with a sextant.
