As a side note, I once casually shopped around for a used piece of Ikea furniture on Canadian websites. It was a mixed bag as to what units were used to indicate the size. Sometimes it was inches, at other times it was centimeters. Because the construction industry isn't metric in Canada, I'm assuming that all the house dimensions are done with feet & inches, and the same goes for anything that goes inside the house.
