So this is happening at other IKEA stores too, eh? I was also disappointed to see this when I want to their new (a few months ago) store in Canton Township, Michigan (Detroit area).

IIRC, on my previous visits to the IKEAs in the DC area (Potomac Mills VA and College Park MD), there was a lot of metric (and/or dual) signage -- but my most recent visit to them was a couple of years ago. So I was wondering if metric was disappearing only at the new stores, or at existing ones too.

On the bright side, the Canton store does have the freebie (disposable) one-meter measuring tapes (metric on one side, inches on the other).

Anyway, thanks for the reminder. I need to go back there soon, and will make a point to fill out one of their comment cards...

I have not been to Ikea in a while, but recently they must have dumbed down their measurements. Everything is in inches! I measured my office in meters and expected to have to trouble buying a desk. What a shock. I had to convert their measuements into mm to get anything meaningful.
