Armstrong, sir:
.....(whereas, to my knowledge time is
standardised).
Experience of French Academy of Sciences implementing French Republican calendar for 'just 13-years' died its natural death; since *time unit & length unit - as Earth rotated* lacked inter-merger in the absence of a valid definition for 'Nautical Kilometre' to replace the Nautical Mile tied to arcAngle. While I agree a day of 86400 atomic seconds is standardised, there is hardly any SI-cohesion between *SI-second and Metre*, establishing a POSITIVE need for revision at CCU/BIPM/CGPM, alongwith agressive call for GO METRIC, and patch up 200-year gap since signing Convention du Metre.
End dual-measurement, let's finish going metric!
YES, time to decide is NOW!

Thank you.

While I agree that a sane time standard is an excellent aim, we haven't
even got the whole world onto one measurement standard for length,
volume, mass and temperature (whereas, to my knowledge time is
standardised). So, let's get the US over to metric (which will clean up
the remaining anachronisms around the rest of the world) and then push
for the change in time.
