I'm not sure that would work. Clocks (I believe) synchronize on the AC line
frequency, which is 60 Hz in North America and 50 Hz in most other places.

I know that buying a small 115V - 230V transformer is a cop-out, but that
might be the only way :-(

I am STILL searching for a bedside digital alarm clock/radio that reads out
in 24-hour time and runs on U.S. current. Every time I shop for one, I find
it has an AM or PM indicator on it and reads out only in the range 01:00 to
12:59.

I succeeded in getting battery-powered clocks that display 24-hour time, and
apparently, most wristwatches are switchable to it. My microwave oven is
switchable to it. But not the Sony Dream Machine type clock radio or any of
its fellows.
