Sorry. I should have said 8400 MJ instead of kJ for 2000 calories.
Thanks for the correction.

Good point. However, the 2000 cal applies to Bangladesh. I just came from a
cruise vacation, and the DV on the ship must have been 20 MJ, not 8400 kJ :-).
I have never seen such a prevalence of elderly, obese people.

In line with that, only the few thin ones were seen on the stairs (instead of
in elevators) and in the gym. We soon learn to recognize each other.

For the US, a realistic DV ought be set at 10 MJ. Or more! :-)

    Thanks Stan.
It's a nice list. Perhaps you could include the equivalent factor for
2000 calories in remarks since it's the commonly used human standard daily
intake. I believe it's 8400 kJ for 2000 calories

Perhaps you meant a list of energy contents in food. If so, here it is.
This table was placed onto this forum several times since its beginning.

About a year ago someone provided a long list of energy units for
quantities of food in SI rather than in calories.
Would you please send that list to me so I may recommend its use?
