I poked around a few websites looking at Samsung models.  Most give specs in
Customary and metric.  While the Cutomary is given as 1.2", the metric is given
as 29.9 mm.  Assuming it actually is, that converts to a bit less than 1.2", so
1.2" is a rounded value, and they actually have a "nicer" metric claim that
they could use.  I would expect them to emphasize "less than 30 mm" in metric
countries.

(I still wouldn't pay a lot extra or settle for lesser performance on other
criteria to have the thinness.)

Subject: [USMA:47294] Give them an inch...

Given the fact that world allowed the US companies to ram inches down
everyone's throats for diagonal screen measurements, now it will have to put up
with more of the same nonsense.  As televisions are becoming thinner and
thinner, worldwide players like Samsung are now advertising the thickness of
their television sets in...inches.  I just saw an ad for a set that measures
1.2".  You'd tink that this would be the natural place for millimeters or
centimeters, but give them an inch...
