Mark's email below mention's contacting the FMI. For many years the FMI has been a major roadblock to the adoption of metric only labeling. This is based on published comments from 2002. Pat Naughtin of the USMA wrote in Metricationmatters in 2009 that he suspected one man, Ty Kelley, Director of Federal Government Relations for the FMI, was largely responsible the FMI's opposition to metric only labeling. Mr. Kelly is no longer with the FMI, he passed away in 2018, but I have been unable find anything about the FMI's current position on metric only. An email inquiry I made some time ago got no response.

Even better yet, contact the Food Marketing Institute and get them to change their opposition to the metric-only labeling proposal. This in itself would make a great step forward if people can buy their soap and shampoo legally in metric-only labeled containers.
