I have a Qwest/Xmission DSL account with 5 static Ips so I can run various servers from my home...It isn't 100% reliable though and goes down from time to time but it works.
For my clients I use colocated servers at a data center...more reliable and more bandwidth... -- Josh Trefethen .:::::[ Exciteworks, Inc ]::[ http://exciteworks.com ]:::::. .::[ cf hosting on linux ]::[ consulting ]::[ expertise ]::. > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Jacob Albretsen > Sent: Wednesday, February 12, 2003 7:14 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: [uug] web servers, hosting > > > On Wednesday 12 February 2003 07:34 pm, Wade Preston Shearer > asked of the Jedi > Counsel: > > speaking of web servers and hosting... > > > > i'm about to get DSL. i'm pretty sure that i'm going to go with > > XMission. i'm pretty sure that i get (at least) one static IP with > > their basic package. > > Yep, you will.
