Simon; As Scott said your forearm will get a work out with a two clutch
spring conversion. What a lot of maxers don't know is that the stock
spring is only good for about 15k to 20k. After that it looses its
spring tension. My suggestion is just replace the stock spring with a
new one and take out the half clutch plate and replace with a full size
one. The half clutch plate is a smaller than normal clutch plate that
yamaha has in the clutch basket for who knows what reason. I have a
122.8 hp V-Max with no slipping problems, I even use Mobil 1 synthetic
oil. Paul Civitello of MadMax directed me to solve my clutch slipping
problem this way. If you have an arthritis problem in your family you
will surely get it with the double spring set up. It is very hard on
your fingers and joints. At 50 years of age as I am, you don't wan't
damage anything that might keep you from riding.Cheers.
