I've done the same thing and the pull is a whole bunch more than I like but
the increase in clutch performance is well worth the extra effort.You get
used to it after awhile and gain some strength in your left arm .As far as
noise reduction in the clutch basket all the springs in the world wont help
that. It seems to be a trait of the Max after about 15,000 mi. depending on
how hard you ride.Bob H

I use the double spring and I've tossed the half disc, the pull on the lever
was alittle stiff, but when I converted to a -4 s.s. line and dot 5 fluid,
it seemed easier and had a quicker release, I'm 48 and can drive in downtown
traffic all day and it doesn't bother my hand.
