Tim, I wonder if the hicup you're refering to is the same thing I was
experiencing.
Riding along at a steady 55 MPH and the carbs would stumble for a second and
then go back to normal. Only did it at that speed. If I were to vary the
speed above and below it and not stay constant 55 MPH it wouldn't do it.
Thanks to the folks on this list, I was pointed in the direction of the
diaphrams (slides).
Found tiny pin holes around the outter edges where they flex (right where
they make contact with the covers) on three of them and one of them had a
larger tear.
What I was experiencing was: slide would move towards the cover (needle
raises) then the needle would suddenly drop due to air getting through the
tear giving me the stumble. Then it would raise back up.
Try taking a look at them. Btw, they're steep if you find that they need
replacing. $50 - $100 each.
