Thanks to everyone who responded to my post about this subject. I got the
old bearings and races out today with the help of a friend who is a very
experienced mechanic. Now I'm just faced with the job of getting new
bearings and getting it all back together. Now for my next question(s): Is
the lower seal really not available except thru Yamaha? On the HLSM web site
microfiche they show what appears to be a sealed bearing for the top and
bottom. Is this the case? If so, will they work on my '85? The microfiche
are for '94 and '96 models.
