Terry,
Yes the SDS box for fuel only is the cheapest I have seen, ($7XX.00),
and would certainly do the job. The only other I had seriously
considered was the Motec which is a couple of hundred more, (but
allows signal inputs ... ie nitros switch, will store data .. RPM/time
or anything, has misc outputs .. ie shift light, NOS solenoids etc).
Of course considering the Motec assumed we could come up with a cam
sync pulse so that we could do sequential, do the ignition and the
whole works, (retard for nitros ... advance as we saw fit and/or have
the ability to use any type of coils we wanted etc), plus doing
sequential spreads out the peak electrical load. I was going lighter
on the injectors in an attempt to provide a better spray performance
at low RPMs by using a higher rail pressure but clearly this selection
is not one of the biggest obstacles. We need a manifold and/or
suitable throttle bodies. I am afraid to not use individual throttle
bodies because I think we will suffer big time if we don't maintain
the V-boost geometry, (but I suppose this could be left in on a
platform manifold ... "with legs"). If we used a platform manifold we
could even put a big batch throttle body up top ... sigh ...... but
someone has to build/have built a sheetmetal manifold ........
Hopefully, you have looked at MSD .. under the fuel section at their
injector sockets/retainers etc .... http://www.msdignition.com/
nice stuff ... be sure to look there at their flexible injector
mountings if you haven't already .... Of course the TWM units
eliminate having to worry about all of that stuff ... what do you
think about them ?? Do you think 40mm is too big ??
