Don,
        There are 2 ways of doing the "Double D" conversion. The full version is
when you remove the wire clip, the washer, replace the "half" plate with a full
size, and add another diaphragm spring.
The easiest version, (which works just fine, and doesn't bang the tray so hard)
is just replace your friction plates and add another spring on top of the one
you already have.
I've been running my bike with the "easiest" version for the last 2 years and
still running fine.
