Howie,
I found that dumping the clutch is a waste of the clutch and the tire. You don't
want to slip the tire at all. What you do is feather the clutch. It is harder on
the clutch but if your going to drag your bike it is a fact of life. I started
around 4-5 k and feather the clutch. Ultimately you want to get around 8grand and
feather the clutch. The reason for the higher rpm is you don't want your bike to
bog. When you get it around 8 and get a good launch you will find your bike
ready to shift into second the quickest. This method got me a 1.66 0-60 ft on my
launches. It is hard to get the perfect pass but if you get down to 1.70 you will
find your best passes are there. Regardless your trap speed will indicate the HP
that your bike is making. 122-124 is a good running Vmax......Hope this helps try
it you'll like it :)
take care Phil
