Mine did the same thing.  I really noticed it after installing Supertrapps.
I could really hear the popping.  What fixed it for me was setting the float
levels all exactly the same setting.  Two of the carbs were off from the
factory by 2 mm and 1 mm.  Its amazing how much better the bike runs now.
That alone seemed to fix several minor bitches I had.  Hope this helps.
