As for the best bang....fix the front end. It is dangerous if you like to
run the twisties. I have met four different people who have crashed on the
Max because of the weak front end.
First purchase the Gold Valve cartridge emulators and get some new springs
(Progressive or Race Tech).
Then look at the rear shocks or perhaps the frame brace. I have personally
done the Gold Valves, Race Tech springs, new billet fork brace, Works
shocks in the back, Nissin 4 pot brakes and Stainless Steel brake lines.
I have not done the frame brace but I have been told that this does wonders
for the mushy feeling you can get when you hit a sweeper at 100 plus.
