Hi,
In addition to TC's suggestions, and his excellent explanation of the cause
of the problem, you can cut down on float valve problems by occasionally
using carb/FI cleaner additive in the gas. It'll dissolve lumps of stuff
that are resistant to the "more gas" treatment. Just use a reputable brand
and don't go too extreme on the concentration, lest you dissolve the rubber
bits.
