Try getting some X-treem Metal Majic Metal Sealer to seal the aluminum after 
polishing.  Then you will only need to use the Semichrome about twice a year.

I also made the mistake of using a die grinder and 3-M fiber pads on several 
parts which made life a lot harder prior to finding out about the Oven 
Cleaner trick.
