How loud is loud?
my 99 when I bought it new seemed to have a knock when it was warm, I though it
was a rod knock but my buddy who has owned a 85 since new assured me that when I
change to a heavier oil ( still had 10-40 from the shop) It would quiet way down
and that it was valve train noise. well I run the mobile 20-50 in my max and its
been smooth sailin for about 5k miles so far. HOWever if you say its loud you
may have "issues" and maybe should get that extended warranty if you decide to
ride it till it blows.
Question? have you checked for metal particulate in the oil.
maybe cut the filter open and check, get a analysis of the oil, ect, ect, ect.
