Unless you are miles from the shop responsible for the work, I would take it
back and let them figure out how to get the caps out. Most people have
horror stories of a shop that did them wrong, and some are justified, but
there are shops out there that are willing to come clean on mistakes they've
made. It's at least worth a phone call, and even if nothing happens, you
should be no worse off than now. One of the only ways that shops (dealers,
businesses, even Yamaha) can improve it by feedback from customers. If a
person fails to give them that feedback, that person has no right to bitch
about poor service.
