Charles,
You must measure the rolling circumference of the tire you are taking
the reading off of .
This must be intered in two parts meters & millimeters . Gearing &
engine rpm have no effect
on the speedo output of the SPA unit as long as you are triggering it
with one magnet that is
rotating at wheel speed . You also have to set the trigger number .
After you have the base set
run the bike along with a vehicle that has a good speedo and check the
unit . You can fine tune
the output by verying the tire circumference input . Example : These
numbers are just for an example
SPA unit says 80mph True speed is 100mph & tire cir. is 2.3meters . Add
20% to circumference .
1.2x2.3 = 2.76meters . I have run two different tires . Different
manufactures & sizes. I have found that if I really pay attention to my
tire measurement that the SPA unit is dead on .
Why can't you pull the red line or better in 5th gear ?
