Rick, majority of bikes don't need a jet kit. Its nothing but a sales
ploy. All thats gain is someone elses pocket got bigger. The mains are
purposely bigger to compensate for having the slow speed jets and lower
portion of the needle lean for EPA requirements. You can change the slow
jets to the 42.5's, stock is 37.5. That will give better low and
midrange driveability. While you at it you can set the floats all the
same heighth. The carbs have to come apart to do it. Keith was trying to
check the heighth from the lines on the outside using a clear tube, big
waste of time. The mains leave as is. You can put a HIndle or Marks and
not have to rejet, its that rich. Having the boost open, I'm suprised it
runs. Mine was so rich, it spit raw gas out the pipe. They have changed
the taper in the needles then to compensate for leaner emissions.
Actually I liked it when the tire started spinning at 7k when the boost
hit.
