ok i know i should have done one thing at a time but i didn't, ouch! i
put mark's pipe on my bike and it went so well i decided to loosen the
screws where you sink the carbs and i broke the #3 manifold. i orderd it
and while i was waiting for it my v-boost switch came in from dale and i
put it on. got my manifold in, pulled the air bow, carbs as a block and
the v-boost system.replace the manifold, put back together crank up and
all is good with the world. ran the bike for 400 miles checking the #3
and the#4 cyl. both with the v-boost switch on and off, it was just a
tad rich but nothing to worry with. i decided the crush washers on the
plugs had probably had it and to put in a new set of plugs. when i
pulled all 4 plugs #3and#4 were a tad rich and #1 and #2 looked just
like i had the stock exhaust still on. put new plugs in, left the switch
in the off position, checked for correct operation and ok. run bike for
less than 100 miles and starts dropping a cyl. when ideling and also at
cruise, kind of a burlbing. but at slight acceleration it hits on all
cyl. and also now all plugs are rich except #2. i'm going to unhook the
v-boost switch tonight even thou i don't think thats the problem because
it cycles correctly. why would it run rich eith an aftermarket pipe ?
seems like it might run leaner but not richer. and help would be
appreacated. i'm not charles nunnally my name is steve lowery vmoa
#1086.
