This is a good tasting can of worms to me. I agree 
frequent oil changes are necessary with turbos, and 
lack of usually results in coked up turbochargers. 
A good reason not to bother with the junk yard variety.

While were somewhat on the subject of longevity I have 
a few questions to field.
Why is the 1500 a long rod motor?
What is the weight of the 85 mm piston?
Does anybody have a Dyno run on a tourmaster 
they can post?

it might be of interest, this run was at about 6 pounds 
of boost.
