One easy way to tell if the lamp is obtaining the necessary current is when you select high or low beam. If the light is slow to get bright you have a current problem .Quartz lamps reach full current very quick. some delay is always evident. these lamps are high current devices. Bradford

I run a 130 watt high for over a year & have no problems with wiring . After careful adjustment I was able to make it tolerable . I will agree with you that is the worst lighting that I have had on a motorcycle . On the others I've been able to correct the problem with 130 watt high beam & Hella European lense . I've have serched & haven't found anyone that makes a lense for the 5 1/2 " light . I've only owned 14 bikes though :)

This the second max I have owned[ out of 30+ bikes ] they have the worst headlight out of the lot . I tried using a higher wattage bulb but the wiring - circuit has to much loss to carry the load , there was almost no difference. I will look into the suggestions from this site. I thought while the front end was off I would ask about this and make changes at this time.       thanks, Bradford
