Chris,
There are a lot of reasons but the biggest are the altitude where you
are taking this measurement and how restrictive your intake is ... IE
.. my Royal Star will only register 70 lbs if I forget and leave the
throttle closed while I am cranking but will register in the 190 range
if I hold WOT .... My '93 max averaged 151 cranking PSI when I lived
in Denver, (around 5300 feet I guess), but here in Phoenix, (1150
feet), it averages 170 PSI ....... Sooooooooo .. the only real
difference in this case was the altitude, (and nobody believes it but
that is exactly why I moved .. now I'm looking for something under 500
feet .. hmmmm...).
