Hi Mark,

I've experienced this pulsating on my 89Vmax some months ago. I let it go and
eventualy the U-JOINT BROKE. After I replaced the u-joint, the pulsating went
away. What caused the pulsating? well, you have someting (u-joint) that is not
balaced. In my case, the u-joint bearings were cracked causing the + in the
middle of the u-jount to be out of ballance.

Things to look for:

1. Put bike on the centerstand and spin the rear wheel slowly then fast. the
wheel should spin freely. If the wheel binds at all, then you have a problem
with the u-joint. (DON'T RIDE YOUR BIKE). If the driveshaft locks up, your
toast!!

2. IF you notice excessive noise (clucking/Jerking) when you let off on the
gas then back on the gas.

I was lucky..very lucky just the day before I was doing 110mph in an up hill
sweeper. the next day the u-joint broke off in my garage after spinning the
tire around. I was trying to find out where the shaft was binding.
