Patrick, 

How many miles did you have on the bike when this happened?  I have the
motor out of my 'max right now for some work, and I'm thinking that maybe I
should replace the U-joint since the bike has 41,000 miles and I'm not sure
of the service history.  Seems like it'd be cheaper to replace the U-joint
than to scrape me and the bike off of the pavement.
