Bill I think you want a 88 or 89 to get Red you can look in Ingo's Yamaha
Vm@x World he has alot of pics for each year. If you want the better brakes
and forks look for 94 or newer and paint the two fenders and false tank cover
no where near as much paint as on the Suzi. The main thing I found on hard
run maxes or say abused is large rubber deposits inside the rear fender from
burning rubber 6of 8 had it the other is if it has a exhaust system be sure
the carbs are set up to match and it runs smothly. In the end I got mine from
a dealer with 800mi paid 8500 with sport shield and harley highway pegs
(which I like) I did meet the first owner he was a cancer victim at 56
getting things in order and I trusted him to take the deal. The other bike I
almost got is now on the cover of Motorcycle Tour and Cruiser Magazine
December2000 it had 920 miles on after testing and a price of 8995. I'm verry
glad I didnt buy it! rear tire was half worn other half under the rear fender
in the test they stated they repeatedly hit the rev limiter at 11000 so
proper break in was never done.
I still dont think you will miss the Suzi unless a Hyabusa blows by someday
at 190 steady as a rock and disapers over the horizon.       Tyler
