Comment #23 on issue 2741 by [email protected]: max_opt_count is
implemented using the wrong kind of limit
http://code.google.com/p/v8/issues/detail?id=2741
Of course ridiculous is an accurate description, absurd also fits your
incapability here; it's basically a 1-line test, how hard can it be for you
to try? I want to help and as I see this you're the one wasting my time
now, not the other way around.
My "ridiculous" patch doesn't degrade below ~16,200 on my machine averaging
~17k and the default code of bleeding_edge averages ~15300 max for
CodeLoad. I've been using a checked out version of Octane with only those
two tests activated to check them faster and run the whole suite when the
numbers don't degrade to verify my findings.
I'm not here to try and fight you and force your understanding into
submission, that would be ridiculous; but you are being just as ridiculous
with this issue by not being productive regarding my claim which is
confusing to me.
I've been trying to explain this to you for over a week, I don't know if
you're the fool or I, did you try a condition there? does your build also
show an effect? is the patch only showing behavior in my house? Of course
I'm confused but my intention is to help if I can and that's all.
With your seemingly genuine confidence of course I've doubted the patch did
anything, reverted and tried the default code over and over. I always see
the default CodeLoad code degrade down to ~15,200 while a patch containing
condition code before clearing the IC does not go below ~16,200 on average.
Ill attach a txt file showing 10 benchmark runs, with and without a patch
containing a condition, look for yourself, I'm not modifying anything but
what tests are run either so you can see for yourself.
