limit prohibits new Emscripten application from running

We ran into similar issues several times already, and we bumped the limit
by tweaking the representation of Lithium several times (Michael was the
last who worked in this area IIRC, the main issue was the typing chaos of
all those integral types involved :-P). Going beyond the current limit
seems to imply that we *double* the size of all LOperands for some rare
edge cases which will probably never be hit outside the Emscripten world.
The question is: Do we really want this? I tend to say "yes", but we need
some discussion here, I think.
In any case, there is no easy and quick fix, even if wanted to bump the
limit.
