12 volt inverter type fluorescent lights are a great deal more energy
efficient than 12 volt incandescent lamps.

Getting wiring in may be a problem requiring dropping the under floor
skin in places or routing wires behind cabinets and through places like
where the water tank is located. I'll be looking into that some more
with my '68 Caravel when I try to replace the aluminum wiring one of
these days.
